Glass: Introduction to Pate de Verre

About this course

The course introduces Pâte de Verre through glass granules and powders, clay modelling, plaster mould making and casting. Learners develop individual projects that may take the form of vessels, architectural pieces or sculptures, using short exercises to explore materials and sculptural approaches. Teaching combines step-by-step demonstrations, handouts and primarily one-to-one tuition, with some group work involving beginners. Learners set individual goals with the tutor and receive regular feedback while reviewing their progress and workshop practice.
