Glass: Introduction to Relief Printing on Glass

About this course

The course explores ways to transfer original designs onto glass using lino prints and stencils. Participants work with enamels and powders to create patterned, coloured and textured surfaces through kiln-formed glass processes. Teaching combines demonstrations, discussion and guided set tasks in a workshop environment. Tutor feedback is provided throughout as learners investigate how different relief-printing techniques and processes can be applied to glass.

Before you go

• Wear sturdy shoes, boots or trainers with closed toes; open sandals are not suitable.
• Bring an apron, sketchbook or notebook, and drawing materials such as pencils, pens or marker pens.
• Basic workshop tools and specialist equipment are available for use.
• Basic colour enamels and medium are provided; glass and other materials can be bought or brought in.
