About this course

The course combines instruction in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Lightroom with HTML and CSS, placing equal emphasis on design thinking and software production. Learners explore typography, grids, composition, research, idea generation, analogue and digital photography, bookbinding and introductory print production. Teaching moves from tutor-led exercises to more developed individual projects. Learners generate and discuss ideas before producing designs digitally, with feedback from tutors and classmates at successive stages. The programme also includes visits beyond the studio and sessions with guest professionals.
