Graphic Design Intermediate

About this course

The course develops graphic design practice alongside design theory and history. Learners research designers and visual styles, generate and record ideas in sketchbooks, respond to briefs and plan projects. Practical work covers a range of media, techniques and digital exercises, including Adobe software. Teaching combines discussions, lectures, demonstrations, homework, group work and individual projects, with presentations contributing to the course activities. Learners build a portfolio of their work and work towards a UAL Level 1 Award in Art, Design and Media.

Is this course right for you?

This intermediate course is intended for learners who already hold a Level 1 or Level 2 graphic design qualification, or have equivalent experience, together with basic Photoshop and Illustrator skills. Entry involves an interview, and learners may also complete an assessment covering their skills, English and IT. Full attendance is required for the qualification course.
