About this course
The course develops graphic design practice through visual exercises, tutorials and briefs based on real-world scenarios. Following an initial discussion, participants collaborate in small groups on a project before developing and finalising their own outcomes. Work is then reviewed through group critique, with discussion of ideas, research and design decisions forming a central part of the teaching. The course focuses on applying established graphic design concepts rather than teaching digital techniques, and is available through online or on-campus study.
What you'll learn
- Apply composition, colour, typography, layout and visual identity principles to graphic design briefs.
- Develop individual design outcomes from research, discussion and an initial collaborative project.
- Present and discuss ideas, research and finished work in a group critique.
- Respond to challenging graphic design briefs through a structured creative process.
