Growing Together for SEND learners - Gardening for Wellbeing

About this course

Learners explore core gardening principles, including the role of soil, water and light, then apply them through plant care and herb planting. The programme also covers leaf and flower pressing, garden wildlife, natural collage and sustainable choices. Sessions combine demonstrations, practical gardening, creative tasks, discussion, visual resources and individual support where appropriate. Activities take place indoors and outdoors, with tasks adapted to different abilities and experience so learners can work at their own pace.

Is this course right for you?

The course is designed for adult SEND learners aged 19 or over who have no previous gardening experience. Participants should be willing to take part in indoor and outdoor activities and follow simple instructions, with support where appropriate. Activities can be adapted to individual abilities and experience. Learners must not have an active EHCP.

Before you go

• A materials fee covers plants, seeds, gardening materials and other resources used during the course.
• Learners may be able to take home some plants or creations made during the programme.
