Guitar Lessons - Level 2

About this course

The course develops guitar technique through group exercises, songs and individual feedback. Teaching covers barre chords, intermediate strumming and fingerpicking, chord and melody embellishments, and ways to refine a song for performance. Learners work across different genres and are introduced to solo guitar playing as the course progresses. The sessions also address building and extending a repertoire, with opportunities to apply the techniques to contemporary songs and an introduction to improvisation. Group learning remains central, while feedback is given on individual playing.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for guitarists who already know the basic chords and can change between them confidently. It may also suit learners returning to guitar after a break. Participation combines group exercises and songs with individual feedback, and includes some solo playing and song performance.

• Basic experience reading tabs or music is expected.
• Learners need to know C, G, D, E, A, Am, Em and Dm chords and change between them confidently.
• The course includes group playing alongside individual feedback.
