Hand Building Techniques in Ceramics

About this course

The course introduces clay preparation and several hand-building methods, including pinch pots, coil pots, soft and hard slab construction, and press moulding. Learners also explore surface decoration through stamping, sprigging and slip application, including painting, sponging, resist, monoprinting, stencilling and inlay. Teaching includes regular tutor feedback on learners’ progress. At the end, each learner reviews their individual progress and progression with the tutor.
