About this course

The course combines demonstrations, guided practice, group discussion and independent work. Learners practise stitches through swatches, test tension, explore design ideas and apply techniques to a personal knitting or crochet project. Content includes knitting in rows, cable patterns, increasing and decreasing for shaping, joining seams and finishing work. Learners also develop technical vocabulary, take measurements, draft schematics and write clear patterns. Ongoing tutor feedback, self-assessment and independent practice support the move from design planning to producing a finished piece.
