Handbuilding and Decorating – All Levels

About this course

Participants explore several ceramic processes, including coiling, slab building, wheel throwing, sculpting and clay modelling. The course combines demonstrations, personal learning plans, one-to-one guidance and question-and-answer sessions. Work develops through surface decoration and finishing, using slip, underglazes, oxides and prepared glazes. Learners are supported in planning and making individual ceramic pieces while refining their practical and artistic techniques.

Before you go

• Bring any images that may be useful as references for the work.
• Non-slip, closed footwear is strongly recommended in the pottery area.
• Some tools can be borrowed, but learners are advised to build their own collection with guidance from the tutor.
