About this course

The course develops advanced ten-hole diatonic harmonica playing through tutor demonstrations, explanations and guided practice. Learners work both individually and as part of a group, building a repertoire of suitable material while exploring different musical styles and approaches to amplification. Topics include advanced bending, tongue techniques, overblows and overdraws, improvisation across several keys and positions, and music theory as it relates to the harmonica. The course also introduces repertoire associated with leading harmonica players.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for intermediate players who are already proficient at bending notes. The level indicates study beyond fundamental techniques, and the teaching combines individual playing with group performance. It forms the second term of the lessons.
