About this course
These classes examine the relationship between House and shuffle dance through footwork, rhythm and musicality. Sessions combine choreography, improvisation and exercises that build a vocabulary for both styles, while introducing connections with African dance, Tap and Latin influences. Participants also explore the social origins of House and shuffle, including their relationship with surrounding music and cultures. The course includes tutor feedback and covers movement patterns involving footwork, balance, coordination, lower-body strength and core strength.
