An adult beginner pottery-wheel course combining structured technique classes with an individually guided project.
About this course
The course develops pottery-wheel skills through work on cylinders, lips, lids, plates, handles and trimming. Instruction is organised around specific forms and techniques before moving into a self-directed project, with one-to-one guidance available during the project phase. The course also includes glazing, allowing learners to complete selected pieces. Classes are held in a small group of up to eight adults.

This course is for adults at beginner level who want to develop their pottery-wheel work through structured teaching and an individually guided project. The format combines group instruction with one-to-one help, and learners are expected to attend every class because missed sessions cannot be made up.

- Classes are limited to eight participants
- The course includes both taught exercises and self-directed project work
Before you go
- Materials are included, including studio stoneware clay and stoneware glazes.
- Each learner is provided with a potter’s wheel.
- The cost includes firing and glazing for the best 12 pots.
- Additional pieces made during the course can be bought.
- Missed sessions cannot be made up.
