About this course
The course develops long-form improvisation through rehearsal and performance work. Participants explore scene dynamics, story structure, character connection, vocal technique and physicality while learning to shape a connected show without a host. Sessions cover starting scenes from minimal or no prompts, building dramatic and comedic tension, editing for flow, and using stage pictures, stillness and physical choices. The course concludes with a full long-form improvisation performance for a public audience.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for confident improvisers developing beyond fundamental techniques and working towards more advanced performance. Previous improvisation study is required: learners should have completed Improvisation Level 2 at City Academy or an equivalent course. Participation involves collaborative ensemble rehearsals and performing in a public showcase without a host.
