About this course
The day combines morning and afternoon demonstrations with guided cooking, including preparation of lunch and additional dishes later in the session. Teaching focuses on understanding food and adapting techniques beyond individual recipes, with attention to organisation, preparation, presentation and the practical correction of dishes. Participants work through intermediate cooking methods and recipes with support available throughout the session. Topics include advanced knife skills, international flavours, dietary requirements, reducing waste and using leftovers, time management and presenting finished dishes.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for learners who have progressed beyond basic cooking and can confidently prepare the elements covered in the provider’s Basic Cooking Days without a recipe book. Day 4 forms part of a structured five-day progression, with participants asked to start at Day 1 to avoid being left behind. The full-day format requires sustained engagement and maturity in a focused kitchen environment.

- Ingredients, food, aprons and all necessary equipment are provided.
- Vegetarian, low-fat and gluten-free requirements can be accommodated on request, although alternative meals are not covered in demonstrations.
- A cookbook containing the recipes cooked is available to buy online.
