Intermediate Photography: Portfolio

About this course

This course develops an existing photography practice through projects covering urban landscape, street and portrait photography. Participants work with studio lighting, use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, and consider how images can be presented, exhibited and curated in digital or printed formats. Teaching combines practical sessions in specialist facilities with questions and answers, observations, PLPs and the production of coursework using new techniques and processes. Peer discussion and critique support a more analytical approach to photography, while the course focuses on building a body of work for a portfolio.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for experienced intermediate photographers developing beyond fundamental techniques. Entry requires a Level 2 Certificate in Photography, an equivalent qualification or relevant experience at a similar level. Learners should expect practical coursework alongside peer discussion, analysis and critique, and must be aged 19 or over.

• Minimum age is 19 at the start of the course.
• Entry is based on a relevant qualification or comparable photography experience.
• Participation includes peer discussion and critique as well as individual photographic work.

Before you go

• Use of a professional-standard photography studio and equipment is available during the course.
• Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop and Lightroom, are available for course use.
