About this course

The course develops hand-cut dovetail joinery for boxes, drawers, cabinets and chests. Participants work on through, half-lap and mitred dovetails, with attention to accurate layout, marking, sawing and chiselling. Instruction focuses on achieving close-fitting joints and understanding how grain direction affects strength and appearance. The course builds on basic joinery skills, including sawing, chiselling and marking, and involves making a set of dovetail joints.
