Introduction to Agentic AI

About this course

The course examines what AI agents are, how they differ from generative AI, and the distinctions between automation and augmentation. It considers agent types, potential applications, limitations and risks, alongside the questions involved in designing an agent. Participants build simple agents using free web-based tools including Claude, Gemini, Glif and Coze, with a short introduction to vibe coding. Teaching combines slide-based presentations, demonstrations, practical activities and group discussion.

Is this course right for you?

The course is labelled Beginner and is intended for learners developing an understanding of agentic AI through presentations, discussion and practical activities. Some familiarity with generative AI, gained through previous study or regular use of AI tools, would be helpful.

Before you go

• Participants will create accounts with various web-based tools. A personal laptop may be used, although computers are available for learners who prefer not to bring one.
