Introduction to Bookbinding 3: Round-Back Case Bindings

A beginner workshop on making a hand-bound, cloth-covered hardback notebook with a rounded spine.
About this course
Participants make a classic round-back case binding by hand, creating a hardback notebook with a full cloth-covered case and rounded spine. The workshop focuses on constructing this traditional book format and concludes with each participant completing their own bound book. The finished structure can be used as a notebook, sketchbook, presentation book, gift or starting point for an artist book. The techniques are intended to be transferable to making further books at home with minimal equipment.
