About this course
The course introduces everyday British Sign Language through topics including meeting people, fingerspelling, numbers, weather, transport, work, colours and clothes. Learners practise understanding and using simple words, conversations and descriptions in BSL. Teaching combines interactive activities, pair work, questions and answers, and feedback. Resources are provided through Google Classroom, with additional practice expected between classes.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for beginners and introduces foundational BSL communication. The teaching includes interactive activities and pair work, so learners should expect to practise with others as well as independently between classes.
- Direct enrolment is available without an interview.
Before you go
- Basic literacy skills are needed to complete an individual learner record.
- Learners are expected to practise their BSL skills at home as homework.
- Course resources are provided through Google Classroom.
