Introduction to Clothes Making

About this course

The course introduces machine sewing, beginner pattern cutting and the processes involved in making a simple garment. Participants will practise cutting fabric, garment construction, hand sewing, finishing techniques and zip insertion. Teaching combines demonstrations, discussion, workshop practice, one-to-one instruction and guidance from a specialist tutor. The course covers both domestic and industrial sewing equipment, including an industrial presser and overlocker.
