About this course

This ESOL course develops speaking, listening, reading and writing, with the term’s main emphasis on reading. Learning combines audio work, reading aloud, writing tasks, quizzes, word searches, games and role play, alongside digital learning activities. Participants work independently, in pairs and in small groups, with individual discussions with the tutor about their progress. An individual learning plan sets personal targets. The course also develops communication in everyday tasks, including understanding simple spoken information, expressing views and making requests.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners whose initial assessment places them at Beginner level. Beginner (A1) indicates an introductory stage of English study, while the class involves varied participation in pairs, small groups and individual tasks. Learners will also discuss their progress individually with the tutor and work towards personal targets.
