About this course

The class develops foundational English through practice in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Learners work independently as well as with partners and groups, with reading work focused on recognising letters in upper- and lower-case forms and identifying words in text. The course also includes preparation for exams at the end of Term 2. Regular English practice and homework form part of the learning process.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for learners at beginner level who already understand and speak some English, can read and write in their own language, and use the Roman alphabet. Participation includes individual, pair and group work. An assessment test and conversation with a teacher are required before enrolment.

• Learners should be prepared to take a test and speak with a teacher before enrolling
