Introduction to ESOL Entry 1 Writing – Waterloo - 13th April 2027

About this course

The course develops English for everyday life and work, covering speaking and listening alongside reading and writing. Lessons use individual work, pair and small-group activities, tutor discussions, role play, reading aloud, quizzes and word games. Participants also use computers, an interactive whiteboard and YouTube to support language learning and basic communication skills. The teaching includes preparation for Entry 1 speaking and listening, reading and writing exams. Learners who pass an exam receive a certificate.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for beginner-level English learners developing foundational communication skills for daily life and work. Learners take part individually, in pairs and in small groups, with an individual progress discussion with the tutor. An interview takes place before enrolment, and learners should be able to use the Roman alphabet.

• A minimum attendance of 90% is required
