Introduction to ESOL Entry 3 Reading – Waterloo - 5th January 2027

About this course

The course develops reading and writing at Entry 1 alongside speaking and listening at Entry 2, with particular attention to reading for the relevant exam. Activities include listening to audio, reading aloud, role play, writing tasks, quizzes and language games, supported by computers and an interactive whiteboard. Learners work individually, in pairs and in small groups, with one-to-one discussions about their progress. An individual learning plan sets personal targets, and each term includes a City & Guilds assessment for the unit being studied.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners developing foundational English who have passed, or understand English at around, the stated speaking and listening level and need to develop reading and writing. An initial assessment determines the appropriate level. Participation includes individual work, pair and small-group activities, one-to-one discussions and regular independent study.
