About this course

The course focuses on early English reading skills, including recognising letters in upper- and lower-case, identifying words in short texts and understanding the purpose of familiar written material. It also incorporates listening, speaking and writing practice. Learning takes place through a mixture of individual work, pair activities and group tasks, with preparation for exams at the end of the course.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for learners who already understand and speak some English, can read and write in another language using the Roman alphabet, and are developing foundational English skills. Enrolment involves a test and a conversation with a teacher. Regular attendance, English practice and homework are important parts of the course.
