About this course

The course develops reading and writing towards Level 1, while also working on Speaking and Listening at Level 2. Learners explore written texts, practise identifying language features and purpose, and complete writing activities alongside listening tasks, reading aloud, role play, quizzes and language games. Learning takes place through individual work, pair and small-group activities, one-to-one progress discussions and digital resources including audio, computers, YouTube and an interactive whiteboard. Learners follow personal targets and take a City & Guilds assessment for the unit studied at the end of each term.

What you'll learn

  • Identify language features that help establish meaning in a text
  • Identify the purpose of a written text

  • Learners may be offered a chance to retake an unsuccessful examination

Before you go
