Introduction to ESOL Level 2 Writing – Waterloo - 13th April 2027

About this course

The course develops English language skills through practice in listening, speaking, reading and writing, with particular preparation for ESOL Level 2 Reading and Writing exams. Learners examine how genre, purpose and audience affect written language and practise choosing effective language for different audiences. Teaching includes individual tasks, pair and group work, as well as using the internet and other technology for language learning. Study skills are also developed alongside regular English practice.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners who have passed Level 1 exams or who already use English confidently at a strong upper-intermediate level. It involves individual, pair and group activities, regular practice, homework and wider reading. Learners take a test and speak with a teacher before enrolment.

• Prior Level 1 study or equivalent English ability is expected
• Regular daily practice and homework form part of the course commitment
• Learners are expected to read widely
• A pre-enrolment assessment and discussion with a teacher are required
