About this course
The workshop examines gemstones from both scientific and practical perspectives. Participants explore how gems form, their properties and inclusions, and the environmental and traceability issues associated with responsible sourcing. They use key gemmologist’s tools to examine a range of stones and carry out gemstone testing and analysis. The course also covers diamond production and mining, alongside the principles involved in grading, valuing and buying diamonds and coloured gemstones.
