About this course

The course develops English literacy alongside speaking and listening, with activities including short-text reading, reading aloud, writing practice, audio work, role play, quizzes and language games. Learning takes place through pair, small-group and individual tasks, supported by computers, YouTube and an interactive whiteboard. Learners have individual learning plans with personal targets and discuss their progress one-to-one with the tutor. Progress is assessed through City and Guilds unit exams at the end of each term, which are internally assessed.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for ESOL learners at Entry 2 whose literacy is less developed than their speaking level. An initial assessment identifies current English levels, and the course involves pair, group and individual work alongside regular independent practice and homework.
