About this course

The course develops everyday English across speaking, listening, reading and writing, with particular attention to reading skills. Participants work with short texts, audio materials and reading-aloud tasks, alongside writing activities, role play, quizzes, word searches and other language games. Learning takes place individually, in pairs and in small groups, supported by computers, YouTube and an interactive whiteboard. Each learner has a personal learning plan with individual targets and opportunities to discuss progress. Assessment includes internally marked City & Guilds exams for the unit being studied, with a certificate awarded for a pass.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for ESOL learners at Entry 2 whose literacy may need support or consolidation in relation to their speaking and listening. Participation includes individual work, pair and small-group activities, and progress discussions. An initial assessment is used to determine current English level.
