About this course

The course develops English skills across speaking and listening, reading and writing, with particular attention to constructing sentences and using adjectives in written work. Activities include listening to audio, role play, reading aloud, writing tasks, quizzes, word searches and other games, supported by computers, YouTube and an interactive whiteboard. Learners work individually, in pairs and in small groups, with one-to-one discussions with the tutor about their progress. Each learner has an individual plan with personal targets. Progress is assessed through internally marked City and Guilds unit exams at the end of each term.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for speakers of other languages at Entry 2 whose literacy may be less developed than their speaking skills. An initial assessment determines current English level, and participation includes individual work, pair and small-group activities, and discussions with the tutor.
