About this course

The course explores illustration as visual communication through line, tone, colour, texture, shape and pattern. Participants work with dry and wet media, including pencils, paint and collage, to create images conveying simple information or narratives. Teaching combines presentations, demonstrations, practical projects, individual and group tutoring, and discussion. Participants research, develop and realise illustrations in response to briefs, while considering applications across print and digital media and the subject’s key movements and styles. Computer software itself is not taught.
