About this course
The tasting examines wines from three northern Italian regions, with particular attention to Piemonte and its Barolo, Barbaresco, Gavi and Asti. It also introduces regional varieties including Nebbiolo, Barbera, Cortese, Dolcetto, Lagrein and Teroldego. Participants taste a minimum of six wines while using tasting notes and a tasting sheet to explore differences between the regions and their indigenous grapes. Barolo DOCG is among the featured wines.

The course is labelled Beginner (A1) and is intended as an introductory exploration of northern Italian wines. Participation centres on tasting a range of wines and using provided tasting materials to examine regional and grape-variety differences.
Before you go
- A minimum of six locally sourced wines is included, along with full tasting notes and a tasting sheet.
- Professional tasting glasses are provided.
- A small selection of cheese, charcuterie and crackers is served.
- Dietary requirements can be accommodated when notified at least 48 hours in advance.
