Introduction to Making Latex Clothes Short Course

About this course

This introductory course combines instruction in latex garment-making techniques with individual garment projects. Participants begin by learning methods for constructing a simple latex garment, then apply those skills to recreating a fabric garment in a heavier grade of latex. Designs may include features such as pockets, collars, fastenings, zips or elastic. Techniques introduced at the start of the course are used to make at least two garments, including an outerwear-style project. The course accommodates learners with no previous experience as well as those extending existing clothes-making knowledge.

Before you go

• Participants must bring a fabric garment to recreate in latex.
• Black latex is provided.
• Press studs, rivets, eyelets and zips used in most latex garments are provided.
• Participants must provide any specific zip or fastening required for their chosen garment.
