Introduction to Pattern Cutting

About this course

The course introduces pattern cutting through the use of a standard-size block to draft simple skirt or top patterns. Participants explore basic manipulation techniques, then learn how to apply balance marks, grainlines and other technical information. Teaching combines demonstrations, discussion, workshop practice and individual guidance. Draping on the stand and making toiles are used to develop and reproduce designs as finished patterns.
