About this course
The course introduces major white grape varieties including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Chenin Blanc, examining their origins and typical differences. It considers how wines may be named after a grape or a place, and how growing conditions and winemaking decisions influence flavour. Participants also explore the main methods used to produce sparkling wine and examine how rosé wines can range from sweet to dry. The course combines these explanations with tasting six contrasting wines.
