Introduction to textiles: discover, experiment, create

About this course

The course introduces textile processes through demonstrations, guided exercises, handouts and individual tutor feedback. Participants experiment with dyeing, stitching, embroidery, felting and fabric construction, drawing on global traditions and contemporary textile practice. Learning is assessed informally through ongoing practical making. Towards the end, participants develop an individual textile project that brings together techniques explored during the course.

Is this course right for you?

The course is designed for complete beginners and for learners returning to textiles to refresh their skills. No previous experience is needed. Sessions involve practical making, demonstrations, guided exercises and individual support in a collaborative studio setting.
