Introduction to Thread Painting Embroidery with Tamsin Lines

A small-group workshop introducing thread painting embroidery through guided practice, suitable for all levels including complete beginners.
About this course
This small-group workshop introduces thread painting, also known as silk shading, a traditional embroidery technique associated with fine, lifelike detail. Through guided exercises, participants practise blending three tonal shades to form soft, painterly petals and develop control of the stitches used to build the design. The session is structured around making a coaster, allowing learners to apply the technique in a complete piece. It is presented as an introduction for people at any level, including those new to embroidery.
