About this course

The course introduces watercolour through practical studio sessions focused on colour mixing, brush control, washes, blending, layering, tonal variation and composition. Projects explore subjects including abstract work, landscapes, flowers and still life, with exercises designed to develop control of the medium and observational skills. Teaching combines presentations, demonstrations and guided practice with individual feedback, group discussion, peer feedback and reflection on completed work. Later sessions allow time for a personal project, supported by ongoing review of practical work.
