Introduction to Woodturning

About this course

Participants are introduced to the structure and safe operation of woodturning lathes, alongside a range of turning tools. Practice begins with a freestyle spindle-turning exercise before moving to a more technical object. The course then covers selecting, preparing and mounting materials, developing individual designs and applying finishes. Faceplate turning is used to make hardwood bowls, with time for participants to work at their own pace and produce finished objects.
