Italian Advanced : Conversiamo in Italiano Term 2

About this course

The course develops advanced oral Italian through discussions on language, culture, traditions and current affairs. Learners work individually, in pairs and in small or whole-group discussions, responding to prepared presentations and unprepared questions while using a wider range of tenses. Activities also include online research, analysing texts, writing tasks, and listening to authentic passages, films, television programmes and documentaries. Progress is reviewed through informal weekly activities and formal coursework, with regular tutor feedback.

• Identify key information, ideas and opinions in extended speech, including complex arguments.
• Present and explain opinions clearly and precisely in spoken Italian.
• Analyse articles and report factual information and viewpoints clearly.
• Understand the overall meaning of films, television programmes and documentaries in standard Italian.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for upper-intermediate to advanced Italian learners, labelled around C1-C2, who are ready to take part in regular discussions, presentations and listening activities. The provider recommends completing the preceding unit or an equivalent course. Excellent attendance and punctuality are expected, with some additional study outside class advisable.
