About this course

The course introduces the basic structure of Italian through a communicative approach, with learners using structured dialogues, discussions, debates and presentations. Activities focus on developing conversational fluency and grammatical accuracy for everyday situations. Learners also read and interpret articles, analyse novels and song lyrics, and explore aspects of Italian culture, including food, drinks and traditions. Occasional participation in Italian events may form part of the course.

Is this course right for you?

The course is labelled Beginner (A1) and is intended for learners developing foundational Italian. Participation involves speaking regularly in class and taking an active role in discussions, presentations and other communicative activities. Regular attendance is advisable.

• The course may include occasional participation in Italian events.
