Italian Beginners Stage 1

About this course

The course introduces Italian for everyday situations, including meeting people, discussing family and routines, using numbers, and handling food, drink and hotel bookings. It covers present-tense regular and irregular verbs, sentence formation, and the expressions “mi piace” and “mi piacciono”. Lessons combine listening and speaking practice with reading, writing, translation, videos, peer interaction and teacher-led activities. Learners also explore Italian traditions, customs and everyday expressions while developing authentic pronunciation and basic conversational skills.

Is this course right for you?

This course is designed for complete beginners with no previous knowledge of Italian. As an A1 course, it introduces foundational language for everyday exchanges through guided practice, peer interaction and classroom activities. It is intended for leisure learners and does not include formal assessment.

• Progress is monitored through classroom observation and activities rather than formal assessment
• Learners can discuss their goals with the tutor and track progress in a Personal Learning Plan
