Italian for Beginners Evening (Part 3)

About this course

The course develops practical Italian for familiar social and workplace contexts. Learners work with language for discussing goods and services, exchanging basic work-related information, responding to invitations and handling everyday questions and negatives. Content includes the present tense, first- and second-person forms of the conditional, basic commands and vocabulary. Class activities and homework are used to consolidate learning across listening, speaking, reading and writing, with progress reviewed through classwork, set tasks and individual learning targets.

What you'll learn

• Accept or decline invitations using basic Italian.
• Use and recognise the present tense in familiar contexts.
• Use and recognise first- and second-person forms of the conditional.
• Form and understand basic questions, negatives and commands.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners who have completed Beginners Part 2 or have around five to six months of beginner Italian study. It involves regular class participation, consolidation between sessions and completion of homework set during the course.

• Prior beginner-level Italian study is expected.
• Learners are asked to complete homework and review class learning.
• Support is available for literacy, numeracy, learning difficulties and disabilities.
• The ESOL programme offers support to speakers of other languages.
