About this course
This Italian course follows a communicative approach, using classroom interaction, role plays, group discussions and presentations to practise real-life communication. Topics include health, celebrations, town and countryside, and eating out. Learners consolidate the presente, passato prossimo and imperfetto, then study the imperativo and condizionale. Activities include discussing past, present and future events, expressing and justifying opinions, agreeing or disagreeing, handling invitations, and comparing traditions to develop intercultural awareness.
What you'll learn
- Expand vocabulary related to health, celebrations, town and countryside, and eating out.
- Consolidate the presente, passato prossimo and imperfetto, and use the imperativo and condizionale.
- Express and justify opinions, agree or disagree, accept or decline invitations, and discuss advantages and disadvantages.
- Take part in Italian role plays, classroom interactions and presentations with greater fluency and spontaneity.
- Compare traditions to develop intercultural awareness.
Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for learners who have completed Post-Beginners Stage 2 or an equivalent course, typically representing around two years of study. It may also suit learners who have recently completed GCSE Italian and want to consolidate past and future tenses. Participation includes role plays, group discussions, classroom interaction and presentations.
- Previous study or equivalent knowledge is expected.
- Recent GCSE Italian learners may use the course to consolidate past and future tenses.
- Regular attendance is advisable for developing language skills.
