About this course
This course develops Italian for everyday situations including shopping, clothing, post-office transactions, public announcements, films, cultural events and making suggestions. Learners practise giving advice, instructions and orders, discussing mistakes and mishaps, and arranging leisure activities. Lessons combine group work and role-plays with structured study of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The teacher uses Italian throughout, giving learners regular listening and comprehension practice alongside spoken communication. Topics include the imperative with pronouns, combined pronouns, stare + gerundio, and expressions such as bisogna, da + infinito, ne and averci.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for pre-intermediate learners developing beyond the earlier stages of Italian. It requires previous study equivalent to Italian Level 11 or at least 132 class hours, and involves regular spoken communication, group work and role-plays.
