About this course

The course develops Italian through conversation, group activities and role-plays, with the teacher using Italian throughout to work on listening and comprehension. Alongside spoken practice, lessons address grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation in a systematic way. Topics include imminent actions, household routines, family structures, gender roles and stereotypes, and language for introducing oneself in a workplace. The course also covers levels of formality, workplace vocabulary, and specific grammatical forms including stare per, the impersonal si, adverbs ending in -mente, sapere and conoscere in the passato prossimo, and indefinite pronouns.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for intermediate Italian learners who have completed Italian Level 14 or at least 168 class hours. Participation involves spoken communication, group work and role-plays, with lessons conducted in Italian.
