About this course

The course develops Italian for conversations about food and dining, including describing flavours, discussing gastronomic experiences, understanding menus, explaining dietary rules and ordering in restaurants, cafés and gelaterias. Learners also build vocabulary connected with restaurants, street food and Italian dining culture. Teaching combines group activities and role-plays with structured work on grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. The teacher uses Italian throughout, giving learners regular practice in comprehension and listening while introducing forms such as the epistemic future, ne with the passato prossimo, però, mentre and che + adjective or noun.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for learners at an Intermediate (B1) level who have studied Italian to a fairly high level. It requires previous completion of Italian Level 15 or a course totalling at least 180 class hours. Participation includes spoken group work and role-plays, with the teacher communicating in Italian throughout.

• Previous Italian study equivalent to at least 180 class hours is required.
• Lessons use Italian throughout, including for teacher explanations and listening practice.
