About this course

The course develops spoken and written Italian through group work, role-plays and sustained interaction in the target language. Learners work on expressing opinions, presenting arguments, reporting ideas and handling situations in museums, alongside vocabulary connected with art, artists, materials and historical periods. Lessons also cover pronunciation, listening comprehension and selected grammar, including the past conditional, present participles and structures such as “penso che” and “penso di”. Italian art, museums and significant Italian artists provide the cultural context for the language work.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for learners who have studied Italian to a fairly high level. Previous completion of Italian Level 25 or at least 298 class hours is required, and participation involves group work, role-plays and communication in Italian throughout.
