About this course

The course develops Italian for travel and everyday situations, with lessons primarily conducted in Italian and an emphasis on spoken communication. Participants practise discussing hotel services, accommodation, cities, places of interest and directions, alongside listening, speaking, reading and writing activities. Group work and role-plays provide opportunities to use the language in situations such as booking accommodation, making requests and giving reviews. Lessons also cover key grammar, including noun-adjective agreement, articulated prepositions, molto, dovere, and the use of c’è and ci sono.

• Make polite complaints and requests about a hotel stay

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for Elementary learners who have already studied some Italian, with Level 2 or at least 24 class hours recommended as preparation. Participants should be willing to take part in spoken communication, group work and role-plays, with much of the teaching delivered in Italian.

• A placement test is available if the appropriate level is uncertain.
• Lessons include collaborative activities and role-plays.
• Progression is based on class participation and self-study rather than formal tests.
